Crew3 is a new platform that is currently being used in most web3 communities to help online communities grow and engage their members. It allows members to earn rewards by completing tasks and competing on a leaderboard, which encourages participation and helps the community thrive. As a community manager, I've been utilizing it to great success in multiple communities, and it has proven to be an incredibly powerful tool for fostering engagement and growth.
Let's get started by some ways you can use Crew3 to grow your community:
- Creating a gamified system to incentive members to participate in your community.
- Grow your Community without bots: Crew3's quest system allows you to create an invite campaign that is free of bots.
- Increasing engagement on Twitter: By linking Twitter to Crew3 and creating a quest for each tweet, you can encourage members to like and engage with your posts more.
- Hosting trivia games: Create trivia games and make users submit answers through Crew3. Users with the most correct answers win rewards.
- If you are a data driven person then crew3 is for you as it helps collect data about you community engagment and growth in a much better way than telegram or discord.
How to set up your Crew3 Community:
-
Go to the Crew3 website and click on "Create your community". Pick a name for your community's web address and choose tags and goals to personalize your experience.
Make sure to choose the correct details (type and sector) as Crew3 will show your Community to other people using those metrics.
- Now you will need to add your Twitter account for your project, It will then be used for to "Follow us on Twitter" task.
- Then you will have to answer some questions about your project like whether is it pre or post-launch and how many team members are on the team.
-
Now after you finish your setup you will need to update your project details, go to settings and update all the details from the logo to the website and website link.
-
Now two more steps and you will be ready to add quests, first, you need to add roles, those roles are for people that will help you in managing the crew3 Community currently those are the available roles:
Admins: are the captains of the ship, they can create/update quests, review quests, add/remove members, and access all the settings. They cannot complete quests.
Reviewers: They are usually trustworthy community members that have been promoted. They can claim quests and review other people.
Guest: The guest role is only useful if your community is private, it gives the right to access your Crew3 and claim quests.
To invite members, click invite and share the link.
-
The last step will be now, choosing what info the users need to have before joining the community, they are all off by default it will then depend on what do you want to collect from the user.
If you are using a discord community make sure to have them connect discord, as a best practice it is always better to make them connect discord and Twitter for future tasks, for emails and address it will depend on if you need them or not.
How to set up Quests in Crew3:
Now with all the setup is over, you can start creating quests.
You can start from a template that crew3 has or start a draft one, first, make sure to check all the templates if they don't have what you want then start a new one from scratch.
Now let's choose a new quest from scratch
After choosing a new quest this window will pop:
Submission type: choose how the members will submit their entries, some are auto-approved like Twitter follow and some need the moderator's approval, like quizzes and trivia.
Reoccurence: this will set the reoccurrence of the quest if it is once then it can be done only once, daily it will be available on daily basis, and so on.
XP: Choose how many xp will be given when this quest is completed, this will affect the leaderboard so make sure to choose this number wisely.
Condition: In case you need members to complete something else before, like following twitter or joining discord.
After setting all those up you can then create your first quests.
Some quests ideas:
- Invite a friend
- Follow Twitter

Some bonus tips to help you get started:
